Amity Taxes
There are several questions that need to be answered:

1. How does the school district determine what it will need?
2. Did the formula include all the new housing with higher assessments?
3. If Amity houses are reassessed, will the school board lower taxes?

There is a real concern with taxes in the township. We are paying more than we want to. There are 2 main reasons:

1. The Daniel Boone School Board increased taxes by 11.4% in July 2005. Amity now has the 3rd highest school taxes in Berks County. See details here.

2. New housing costs more in Amity and, as a result, homes are assessed higher and pay higher taxes. See an article here and here.
